When Ken Griffey Jr. began his MLB career in Seattle in 1989, his father Ken Sr., was still active with the Cincinnati Reds They became the first father/son combination to play big league ball at the same time.
When Ken Sr. joined Seattle in 1990, they became the first father/son teammates in MLB.
They hit back-to-back home runs in 1990, another father/son first.
